Ok just going to put this out here for now with one character - more coming soon (one's almost done) MagesWhat's your name?: Anne Kenrin (https://prnt.sc/fp12rt & also this thing in progress that will never be completed: prntscr.com/fp0j7f)What do you do?: Student at the American Mage Academy & volunteers at an animal shelter in her spare time (irrelevant). What's your age?: 17 (age in S/D was 15 not 18 like the initial form says bc that makes more sense) What are you good at?: Strong in elemental magic in general, but decided to focus on fire. Also carries a short, magic conducting (one way) dagger at all times. What gives you trouble?: - Restraining the effects of newer spells & managing mana usage - Occasionally is too brash & has slight anger issues (but a lot less than seen in S/D) - 99% over Cody Lazarus (but don’t bring it up) Where are you coming from?: A mage who was thrown into the Sanctum War with no experience and given command over the Saber of the Clubs, Anne learnt the basics of magic and the way things worked a much more difficult way than most did. After the war, she joined the American Mage Academy to learn more about magic & develop her elemental skills. Where are you going?: Graduate & then probably join up with Cody, Kirin, and Hera for work & to help them out in general.

Name: Cody Lazarus (http://i.imgur.com/IPkRZT1.jpg)
Role: Along with Kirin Oshiro, Cody Lazarus is a council member of the Mage's Association and, much to the dismay of the other council members, a rapidly growing political force.
Age: 19
Skills: Cody fights with his brains, not his brawn. He's the worldwide leading mage in the art of technokinesis-- a quickly developing new form of magecraft. Cody is capable of casting hacking spells, transporting information nearly instantaneously, uploading data to a cloud network that he can access from anywhere in the universe and commanding an army of aerial combat drones. He builds things, he tinkers with things and sometimes he just downright ruins things when necessary. When combat comes into play, he calls down a pair of drones to fight for him, but he keeps a peacemaker in case things get dire. This gun can fire raw bursts of mana as well as bullets. His drones only fire bullets and/or fight with steel blades.
Weaknesses: Ever since childhood, his fatal flaw has been his obsession with his work, and as the past few years have gone by, this has only gotten worse. In a parallel timeline where Cody seizes the sanctum key for himself, he goes mad with power and forcefully exposes magecraft to the world, using his fleet of combat drones to attempt to take over before being killed by Kirin. After his fateful encounter with Avenger two years ago, this timeline's Cody sometimes has visions of what he might still become. The more powerful he gets within the association, and the more control his armada has over the organisation's security, the more he risks falling into that corrupted alternate self. As he makes advancements in the craft of technokinesis, he constantly runs the risk of going too far and becoming obsessed with power. When he gets absorbed into his work, as he often does, he relies on his friends (chiefly Kirin and Hera) to keep him intact. Without them, he'll quickly break. Cody is an idealist, and often a naive one. He refuses to cooperate with those who use methods he doesn't morally agree with, even if they're for achieving the same goal as his.
Background: After leading the Club Faction to victory two years ago, destroying the Sanctum Key and ending the thousand-year cycle of Sanctum Wars, Cody Lazarus has quickly become the most controversial member of the Mage's Association in centuries. His policies and propositions are considered extreme, with plans to contact world governments and slowly reveal magecraft to the non-magic world to benefit the majority of the population, effectively uprooting the system they have gone by for over a millennium. The elders are having a hard time shutting him up, however; for one, he is the one who designed, produced and set into action the Lazarus Armada, an army of flying humanoid war machines equipped with conventional weapons (although powered by mana) that protects the association's headquarters and patrols areas of interest under camouflage. He is the former master, and now partner of Roger Bacon, the last surviving servant of the Sanctum wars, who himself has now become a major guiding figure in the association due to him technically being the eldest living member by far. When it comes to easing relations with the council and the other families, Kirin Oshiro helps him out, being the patriarch of one of the big three families. Hera Gregg, Kirin's fiancee and a former fellow master of the Club Faction, has a more mysterious family history and doesn't deal well with the posh and old-fashioned culture of the elders and rival houses, but she serves as an excellent bodyguard and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. The four of them- Cody, Roger, Kirin and Hera- make up a small but formidable group within the association, and they have a big meeting with the council coming up.
Objective: Win over the conservatives and the elders in the council, continue to improve the Lazarus Armada and someday bring magic to the people and effectively create a new world.

Name: William Tell (http://prntscr.com/fovqfz)
Epithet: The Marksman Confederate
Class: Archer
Age: 29
Strength: C
Endurance: B
Agility: B+
Mana: C
Luck: A
Skills:
Independent Action (A+): Tell was incredibly bold in his defiance of authority, and is famous for his exploits in combating tyranny. Because of this background, and his status as a member of the archer class, he possesses an extreme degree of independent action, allowing him to partially resist command seals, as well as utilize skills and noble phantasms in limited fashion without the assistance of a master.
Marksmanship (A): Tell's ability to shoot with incredible accuracy was absolutely peerless in his time; he can fire his crossbow bolts with effortless precision.
Dark Martyr (B): After his death, William Tell’s story was inspiring to many; unfortunately, centuries’ worth of assassins and other questionable characters (including John Wilkes Booth and Adolf Hitler) were reportedly inspired by Tell as well. This skill increases Archer’s charisma with all who he encounters, but is particularly geared towards immoral or unethical individuals.
Riding (C): William Tell was skillfully able to ride a horse and captain a ship; as a result, he has been summoned with the knowledge and experience to control many commonplace vehicles.
Noble Phantasms:
The Second Bolt (Anti-Unit, B): The most famous episode from William's tales was his defiance of the dictator Gessler, who instructed him to shoot an apple off of his son's head. Gessler asked Tell why he had prepared two bolts for the job (after he had easily split the apple with the first one), and Tell replied that if the first bolt had killed his son, he would've used the second for Gessler himself. Indeed, Tell later kills Gessler with the same second bolt, demonstrating the inevitability of his wrath. This Noble Phantasm creates a ghostly second bolt that follows behind each of the bolts that Archer fires: if the first strikes its mark, the second bolt will fade out of existence; however, if the first bolt is evaded, deflected, or destroyed, the second bolt will take on solid form and home in on the original target with much more speed and force than the first.
Tellsplatte (Tell’s Slab) (Anti-World, C-): When Tell was being transported by ship as a prisoner and was met with a storm at sea, his captors finally agreed to cut his bonds and allow him to pilot the ship to safety; instead, he drove the ship into a coastline of sharp rocks, sinking it while escaping onto shore. This Noble Phantasm allows Tell to manipulate structures that he is contained inside, and works best in smaller areas (like the inside of a car or the hold of a ship) while being less effective in large buildings and entirely useless in open terrain. It gives Archer some telekinetic control over the target’s movement, as well as an ability to visualize and manipulate structure, allowing him to locate or create weak points.
Drei Tellen (The Three Tells) (Anti-Self, B+): During the Swiss Peasant War, and several rebellions beyond, the symbolic portrayal of William Tell as a trio of rebel saviors began as a way of using the Folk Hero’s legacy to boost the peoples’ morale. Multiple assassinations of tyrants, for example, were undertaken by trios of men dressed as William Tell with the hope of uniting the commonfolk with the rebels. When Archer activates this Noble Phantasm, he becomes flanked by 2 shimmering replicas, who possess his stats at a full rank down, lose all skills except Marksmanship, and fire the same ghostly projectiles that appear with The Second Bolt. In this state, the original William Tell is unchanged except for a large increase to his Charisma. This NP is mana-intensive enough that activating it is not advised without a Master’s support, even considering Archer’s A+ Independent Action.
Background: William retains a very limited set of memories from his time in life, with emphasis on two main elements of his character – his refusal to submit to authority, and his love and devotion to his son. Archer went so far as to defy Ruler himself, refusing to fight for his masters when he was summoned and using his Independent Action to limit their command seals’ effect on him. Ruler responded by assigning Archer to be the servant his own descendant in the next war, who he could not help but fight to defend because of his deep-seated paternal dedication. Since that war, in which Archer lost and his master was killed, Archer’s personality has become much colder and more distant. He is more subdued in his defiance of Ruler, but at the same time, he is much more reluctant to develop any sort of trusting relationship with his master, especially if they’re on the younger side.
Current Goals: William currently prioritizes being a solo agent rather than actively searching for a master, and is most comfortable in an almost nomadic lifestyle, always being on the move and never settling down.

Webster Krauss
While many of the ordinary people below rushed to find cover as soon as the downpour began, Webster felt quite comfortable in the rain. The cold was a stimulant, jarring him to attention. It felt good to be back at work, pursuing a target as high profile as the famed Kirin Oshiro.
Speaking of which, Webster was a little confused about the man right now. For some reason, he hadn't expected to find him cuddling with a mousy-looking girl in the middle of the sidewalk. He hadn't been able to make out any of the conversation, and was far too cautious to try for a remote listening spell lest they catch on; instead, he chose to focus on the nontrivial task at hand. His client had specifically instructed to ensure there were no witnesses, magical or not. There were a handful of stragglers on this road, headed for home through the falling rain, who could be taken care of shortly. There was no need to stress about the much larger crowd three blocks north, Krauss figured -- with any luck, this fight wouldn't get that far.
Silently, an area covering much of the surface of the rooftop he was positioned on transformed from featureless gravel to a mottled, bloodred plane -- a paper-thin grid of portals, a centimeter above the roof's surface, invisible from ground level just as he was, had materialized. High in the sky, above a passerby's head, a shimmering black square appeared, indistinguishable from the night sky. The water that would have been landing on a section of the rooftop was instead transported to that point, where it fell along with all the other raindrops, increasing the downpour over the man twofold. As if a switch had been flipped, he ran for cover from the sudden onslaught, placing his briefcase over his head for protection as he turned the corner searching for shelter.
Slowly, subtly, deliberately, Krauss replicated the process with a pair of old women, and a boy on a bicycle. All responded the same way. Before long, the street was empty but for a sleeping homeless man and the mage couple itself; Webster finished by forming large puddles at either end of the block to deter company. Now, at last, he could begin.
My apologies, Mr. Oshiro. For a while I thought we might've been kindred spirits, you and I. But I'm afraid business is business...
Once he figured out a good striking position, Krauss backed up from the roof edge to ensure he was out of sight. Breathing softly, he thrust his sword forward, hilt-deep into the ruby portal that had flashed into existence in front of him. Down on the ground, the same razor-sharp blade emerged from an identical plane to strike at Oshiro's throat.

Kirin Oshiro
Here...?
He scowled at the blade, which burst into existence a mere millimeter from his neck. He saw Hera's reaction, a mixture of panic and rage, and they both understood what was happening. "...Get down!" he yelled, taking her to the ground as the sword reappeared where they stood moments before. "Well...?" He muttered to Hera, holding her while still laying on the soaked ground. "What will it be tonight, my darling? Fight, or flight?" He couldn't help but crack a slight smile.

Hera Gregg
"You are either very brave or very stupid," Hera commented with a roll of her eyes. She hastily got to her feet as a red flash of light caught her eye, dragging Kirin with her. "Defendo mihi amico arma" Kirin felt a slight disturbance in the air around him. "That should protect you from most physical attacks. If it's a sword imbued with mana though, you're kinda outta luck. Now-" Hera pushed Kirin out of the way of the blade once more, "I'm gonna go find out where these attacks are coming from. Don't die in the process."
Hera deftly dodged another attack and began to analyze her surroundings. If the transport spell ends with a red flash it should begin with one as well, right?

Kirin Oshiro
"Heh... Alright, then." Kirin backed up and let his hands become covered with rain. He slowly rubbed them together and began counting.
One, two, three- And then the sword resurfaced. One... two... three... On cue, it once again attempted to strike him. It didn't seem to be going after his fiance.
"Heheheh..." He smiled, counted to two and suddenly sidestepped. When the sword resurfaced from his position a second before, he seized its blade with his hand. Pruina! As predicted, the rain water coating it froze instantly and created a blunt layer of ice, which he firmly gripped. With all of his might, he attempted to pull it further out of the portal. "I'll be taking this..."

Webster Krauss
Damn, that could've gone better. Still, no harm done, they haven't found me yet...
The sudden sharp tug on his sword interrupted his musings, as Webster's physical training allowed him to barely keep a hold on the hilt of his blade. He regained his footing and started to tug back.
On second thought... maybe this can work.
Smiling, Krauss suddenly changed tacks from pulling on the sword to practically shoving it forward. The Oshiro, who'd been pulling on it hard, found himself falling back -- into a large red plane which materialized that same instant.
The boy was deposited from a red crack in the sky, thirty feet up -- only to fall six inches into another portal, which flung him up yet another couple of stories. Knowing that the Oshiro was now above him, Krauss stood as still as possible, hoping his black clothing on the black roof at nighttime would prevent his being spotted, as he watched his target begin to fall.

Hera
Hera slunk along an alleyway, taking note of the red flashes that came from a nearby roof and that the attacks from earlier weren't following her. She leaped onto a garbage bin and from there grab ahold of a ladder leading to the rooftop. As she climbed to the top she heard an oddly familiar yelp. God damn it.
Hera leapt onto Webster's roof to see Kirin falling several roofs away. "Hydrus. Auxiliis." A giant water serpent flew through the rain towards Kirin's falling form. "Pruina." Suddenly, frozen rain droplets began to pelt onto Webster's roof. As the mana drain began to take effect, Hera had only one thing on her mind, Please, Kirin, please be okay.

Kirin Oshiro
Alright, stay calm... With all of this rain, it should be a simple matter of using ice magic to guide my fall onto the ground unharmed. I just have to quickly calculate the best angle to construct the slide with Pruina and Arko, but one thing I certainly don't need any more of is...
Just then, he heard the growl of an all-too-familiar pet of Hera's.
...Water.
He made it to the ground one way or another-- safe, but soaking wet.
"This was my best shirt, Hera!" He yelled into the storm.

Webster Krauss
Upon being struck with the first few shards of ice, Webster's blocking portal went up almost automatically, funneling the bulk of the onslaught down to the street below. Still, he had to admit that the situation looked bleak. Going up against Kirin Oshiro was difficult; going up against him and a water elementalist, in the rain, without a sword, after his cover was blown and his mana largely depleted, was suicide.
"Hey, Curly-Hair!" He shouted. The girl looked startled, as if surprised that he tried to address her.
"Your boyfriend can keep that sword for now, but I'll need it back at some point, understand?"
He stepped backwards into another portal and vanished before a reply could be given. Hera could make out a pair of red flashes about fifty meters to the east, as Webster slipped out of one exit to fall into the next entrance. In much the same way he'd flung Kirin into the air, he was travelling laterally through the city, in half-block leaps, four stories up from the ground. Passersby would assume it was lightning, and in just a few moments, there was only the wind.

Hera Gregg
"...ACTUALLY HE'S MY FIANCE," Hera yelled after the man.
Several minutes later, Hera finally approached where Kirin lay in a giant puddle of water. "Um...you okay, babe?"

Hera Gregg
Hera sat down next to Kirin in the puddle. "I don't care about your fucking shirt. I just wanna know that you're uninjured. That spell I put on you only absorbs a medium amount of force. Do you feel any pain at all? Is anything broken? Do we need to contact Cody?"

Kirin Oshiro
"If I was injured, trust me-- I wouldn't be complaining about the shirt." He sat up and stretched his arms. "Don't tell Cody about this. He's already occupied with the meeting tomorrow, we wouldn't want to dump this on him as well. Although..." He stared out to where their would-be assassin flew off. "I can't say it's too often that I see magic quite like that. We should keep an eye out for that man."
